Working Online From Home: The Power Of Cooperation
The Money, they say, is in the list. That is, the more people you have signed up, or 'opted in' to your particular Marketing Campaign, the better chance of increasing your sales volume. This is indeed true, however, it's not necessarily true that you need an incredibly large list, to make any real sales. A list of less than 10,000 opt in subscribers can net you a very tidy profit, as long as you have taken care of them, but that's another topic.
So what is cooperation? Your average dictionary should say something like "The association of persons or businesses for common, usually economic, benefit." - this seems pretty spot on to me. In the Internet Marketing World, there is two ways to consider this. The first way is join "co Ops". this is where you pay what usually amounts to a monthly fee, along with a bunch of other Marketers, and the combined funds are placed in various Market Places, with their Ads shown on a rotated basis. This means that you get your adverts out to many more potential customers than you would likely get by advertizing on your own.
The second definition of Co Operation is known as JV or Joint Venturing. This is basically down to lead sharing and cross promoting. The idea that you have a list of Opt In subscribers, which may, or may not be extensive, but you can take advantage of other people's lists by coming to an agreement on how to cross promote. For example, you can promote another person's product to your list, and visa versa, taking a nice fat commission check in the process. So you make a commission on their product, whilst having your product sold to someone else's list, thus increasing your own customer base, in the process. Sounds like a plan to me!
So how do you go about utilizing this cooperation? Well, many online Marketing Systems will just plain come out and offer you the chance to join their ?Co Op?. This will likely involve joining up to a monthly or annual subscription, the annual one usually offers the best value, but can cost several thousands of dollars in some cases. When considering these Co Ops, be very careful to only signup to ones that are targeted to specific actions, if you join a Co Op that presents the buyer with too many options, it can often dilute or confuse the overall message, and lower your signup rate.
When it comes to cross selling your lists with other Marketers, you?ll want to ensure that you know who you?re inviting, you don?t want someone who?s going to start spamming your list if they get signups. The best way to figure this out is to join Forums. There are plenty of these about, such as DigitalPoint and the Warrior Forum, so strike up a relationship, share experiences, and over time you?ll figure out who you can trust, and more to the point, who you?ll want to do business with.
