The sale also celebrates music legends from the Jazz era to the 1960s with portraits of Duke Ellington, Charlie ?Bird? Parker, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan. Duke Ellington, 1947, is an exuberant portrait of the Jazz great by William Gottlieb. Elvis Waving, 1958, one of several works in the sale by Life Magazine photographer Bill Ray, captures the enthusiasm of the young pop star as he embarks upon his military service (estimate: $1,500?2,000). Bob Dylan and Suze Rotolo, New York, 1963, by Don Hunstein is an atmospheric color photograph of the artist and his companion strolling in the snow (estimate $2,500?3,000).
